About Boca Greens

Boca Greens offers a different alternative to many of Boca Raton’s traditional country club communities. All 586 residences are single-family homes, with mature landscaping, lakes and many properties offering golf-course or water views.

The community surrounds an 18-hole golf course originally designed by Joe Lee and later renovated by Kipp Schulties. The privately operated club also offers six tennis courts.

What makes Boca Greens particularly appealing is that country club membership is not mandatory. The golf and tennis club is privately owned and operated separately from the homeowners association, allowing buyers to enjoy the golf-course setting without being required to pay the substantial initiation fees and annual dues found in many Boca Raton country club communities.

Buyers should also know that the homeowners association itself does not operate a clubhouse, community swimming pool or recreational complex. The appeal here is primarily the guard-gated setting, single-family homes, golf and lake surroundings and the flexibility of optional club participation.

Daisy’s Perspective

Boca Greens is a community I would consider primarily for buyers who specifically want to live in western Boca Raton. It is pretty far west, located along State Road 7, so I think location should be part of the decision rather than something we gloss over.

The tradeoff is that buyers can get a guard-gated single-family home in a golf-course setting without committing to a mandatory country club membership. That can make a tremendous difference in the overall cost of ownership, especially compared with some of Boca Raton’s equity and mandatory-membership clubs.

The location is convenient to West Boca shopping, restaurants and South County Regional Park, and you are roughly 10–15 minutes from the Florida Turnpike and about 15–20 minutes from I-95, depending on traffic.

For someone who wants to be closer to downtown Boca, the beach or East Boca, I would probably look elsewhere. But for a buyer who likes western Boca, wants a single-family home and appreciates the golf-community atmosphere without the mandatory club expense, Boca Greens deserves consideration.
