What Buyers Should Know About Lake Worth

One thing that can be confusing for buyers is the difference between Lake Worth Beach and the broader Lake Worth area.

Lake Worth Beach is the incorporated coastal city east near the Intracoastal and Atlantic Ocean. However, many communities farther west use a Lake Worth mailing address even though they are outside the City of Lake Worth Beach.

That means two homes listed as being in “Lake Worth” can offer completely different lifestyles. One may be a historic home near downtown and the beach, while another may be in a gated community several miles west with a clubhouse, pool, tennis courts and larger residential setting.

As you move west, you’ll find communities such as Smith Farm, Winston Trails, Journey’s End, Lake Charleston and Osprey Oaks, along with a substantial selection of 55+ active adult communities.

When comparing homes, I recommend looking at more than the mailing address. Location, HOA fees, amenities, property type and how far east or west you want to live can make a big difference in finding the right fit.

Discover Life in Lake Worth

Life in the Lake Worth area can look very different depending on where you choose to live.

Lake Worth Beach offers the coastal side of the lifestyle, with the beach, pier, walkable downtown, restaurants, galleries and cultural events. Farther west, buyers will find larger residential communities, gated neighborhoods, golf communities and convenient access to shopping, restaurants, medical facilities and everyday services.

Outdoor recreation is also a big part of the area. Residents can enjoy the Atlantic Ocean, Intracoastal Waterway, parks, golf and year-round outdoor activities, while Lake Worth Beach provides the added appeal of a downtown and beach environment within the same community.

The City of Lake Worth Beach is also a useful resource for information about local parks, recreation, beaches and community facilities.
